At the Epicurean Kitchen, we want to get back to basics. Many of us long for the time when the kitchen and the kitchen table were the soul of the household.

The pleasures of selecting just the right ingredients, preparing meals, and enjoying the feast. The tantalizing aroma of fresh food, the sound of the sizzling dinner, almost ready. And the comfort of relaxing with family and friends, savouring an exceptional meal.

Well, for us at the Epicurean Kitchen, we want to bring that back to you. Here's what we do: we prepare simple but delicious food, using local ingredients and traditional cooking techniques combined with elements of international cuisine.

And we make it easy for you.

Whether you want to come enjoy a sumptuous meal in our beautiful private dining room, take a cooking class, or have us cater a meal in your own home, the Epicurean Kitchen has something to offer you.

Carolyn Power, Chef & Co-owner

Carolyn's passion for cooking led her to a culinary school on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, where she was exposed to a variety of cooking styles. Her enthusiasm grew to new heights as she began to work with local and often organic products to create spectacular dishes.

Then an opportunity to cultivate this enthusiasm in others came when she began teaching Professional Cooking at college in Nova Scotia.

The Epicurean Kitchen is a combination of her love of teaching and her desire to create using local ingredients, offering a venue to share her culinary knowledge and enthusiasm with St. John's.

Darrell Power, Co-owner

Before this venture Darrell's professional life combined an interesting mix of entertainment, Newfoundland culture, and extensive travel. In his travels his love of food grew to encompass many cultures. He sees The Epicurean Kitchen as a setting that will provide St. John's with access to many international foods.
